So much of today’s EDM scene looks at the rise of the young EDM producers. Aiden Jude was a big conversation piece recently, and even Borgore brought up how he likes when younger producers get into the EDM game. Producers starting out young means that when they do pop, they’re still pretty damn young. Henceforth when an entity like Spotify releases their “25 Under 25” list, it can be something to aspire to. While this list isn’t based on money made or anything like that, we’re told it speaks on “number-one hits, volume and growth of streams and shares, as well as viral chart success from the past year.” Basically, people play the hell out of the music from these artists. And while it’s a virutal who’s who of today’s stars (including Ariana Grande, Lorde, Miley Cyrus, The Neighbourhood, and Earl Sweatshirt), it also includes three EDM acts that have had a great 2013: Avicii (who topped the list), Zedd, and Disclosure. They have all had huge singles in the last year, and both Zedd and Disclosure have been nominated for Grammys. We can’t say that we’re familiar with all of these acts, but it’s dope to see them getting this kind of recognition. Check out the full list and the Spotify playlist down below.
