When you’re making an edit of an already standout tune, you better come correct. Ekali did that with his edit of Dpat’s Soulection-released cut “Bloom.” While the original has a more moving flow to it as ebbs and flows like a wave, Ekali’s edit is more haunting in it’s rhythms with it’s tasteful chimes and flanging winds. There’s an understated, nuanced quality to this edit that might not be abundantly obvious at first listen, but flush it against the original and the quality in both shines even brighter. Ekali’s SoundCloud is scarce for material, but we’ve got a feeling that it won’t be long before he’s peppering us with more cuts of this quality and better.
