Premiere: Souleye – Labeled (ill-esha Remix)

Positive Hip Hop artist Souleye returns with a blazing remix of his second single “Labeled”, from his latest album Shapeshifting. Souleye paired up with rising future bass producer, ill-esha to create a glitchy and psychedelic remake of the original. In the first release of “Labeled”, the socially conscious rapper highlights the power to relinquish animosity and to forgo the misjudgment of one’s appearance. Ill-esha transforms the original into a bassy and trap-infused glitch hop song. She begins the remix with heavenly synths that build up into a warm and thumping bassline that laces into echoing samples of Souleye’s vocals, beautifully weaving in and out of the original track.

Ill-esha is a Vancouver-born and Colorado based music producer who expresses her unique and individual style by blending elements of hip-hop, dubstep, R & B and future bass music. Ill-esha’s evolving musical styles work perfectly with artists such as, Souleye. Souleye is known for his old school hip-hop and trip-hop rhythms that effortlessly compliments his inspirational and thought- provoking lyrics. In the past, Souleye has also been featured on the recordings of Bassnectar, MIMosa, STS9, The Glitch Mob and Random Rab. Souleye has a good spirit with infectious energy and you can definitely hear it through his music.
